Entertaining the kids for the last few months has been a challenge I’m sure we can all relate to. With the summer holidays arriving, it’s going to be a summer of the staycation for us and exploring what the local (and slightly wider North East of Scotland) area has to offer.

Lidl has partnered up with the National Trust for Scotland to provide a handy activity booklet, packed with fun activities to do both indoors (for those rainy days that we know all too well in Scotland) and for those scorching sunny days, there’s outdoor fun to be had as well. All to celebrate the rich heritage, natural beauty & diverse wildlife that we have available on our very own doorstep.

We’ve already been working through the easy to follow activities, which are aimed at getting our creative juices flowing and learning more about Scotland as we go along. There’s fruit dolphins, honey bee sandwiches, fun colouring of landmarks, like the Pineapple in Falkirk, as well as a dot to dot of one of our nations most famous creatures. If you’re heading out on a bear hunt, there’s also animal track spotting, so you can try to seek out your favourite animals.

It’s packed full of fun for both kids and adults… The girls certainly had a blast, as did us grown ups! It was certainly a welcomed break from the Zoom meetings and technology that we’ve been juggling over the past few weeks. Whilst still keeping the girls learning alive and helping them find out more about what we have just outside our front door… Perfect to keep them entertained over the holidays.
