If you’ve followed by blog since the start, you’ll know that a bit of a past time for me is making up little printables and various bits and pieces. I vowed to share these with you regularly and I’ve got some catching up to do! I’ve done a meal planner in the past, which is still available to download here if you want a more colourful option. However, I’ve simplified the design to be more in keeping with our kitchen now and I thought I would share this with you.
This is my own personal goal to become more organised (as I once was). My one bug bear with meal planning is having to drag out all the recipe books and sift through them. If you are anything like me, then you might only like a few of the recipes in each book. So I came up with the idea to catalogue my favourite recipes with the recipe index printable. This way I can note down my go to recipes and instead of sitting down to meal surrounded by a mountain of books, I can just dig out those that I’ve chosen to cook that week and make up my shopping list from that.
Meal planning is the only way I have managed to keep food shopping costs down and ensure that we eat good home cooked meals. I lack in the chef department and I’m not one of those people who can look in a fridge and whip up something from what’s lying around.
If you are looking to add meal planning in your life, or looking to simplify your existing meal plan method… then simply click here for the weekly meal planner PDF and here for the Recipe Index PDF to download your free printables.
Do tag me in on your planning snaps on social (@lifewithmuncher on Twitter and Instagram) as I’d love to see what you’re planning to make. Might even inspire me!

Fab idea! I write a weekly plan for our evening meals but usually end up rotating the same old things. I’ve got a folder full of recipes I want to try and never actually get round to it. Come September I’m hoping ot get back into trying some new things.

I love this idea and this is just what we need. I always feel better when meals are planned for the week, especially for the boys as it makes sure they get a variety. I sometimes am too guilty of not planning in advance and then dinner is whatever we have in the freezer! x
