Usually I’m amazed at how quickly the months roll by, but for once I can actually say it feels like ages since I typed up June’s LWU!
We’ve been very busy and there is lots to share this month…
Life With…The Family
It’s only 2 weeks until the schools start back up here and it’ll be Munch’s first year (no reception year here). Even though we’ve been shopping savvy (ish) I’m shocked at the cost…I think it’s because they need so much.
She has spent the summer holidays at home with me and MM, besides 1 day when they both go to nursery. It’s been great to spend some quality time with her before she starts school…it seems such a big new chapter for all of us, so nice to cherish those last moments whilst we can.
MM will be going to nursery more when Munch starts school, to give me more time to work. This past few weeks, I’ve been a bit MIA because (rather excitingly) I’ve set up my own marketing agency! Wild right?! I was missing the hustle…I’ve always talked about how big a career girl I’ve always been, so the redundancy was a bit of a game changer for me in many ways. However, I’m hoping more than anything that those stormy clouds that have been hanging over our lives since the end of last year are finally parting (at the risk of jinxing it!).
Life With…The House
Maybe it’s the new outlook, but Hubs has caught the DIY bug a bit and is on the case to finish off the downstairs. So there’s a lot of painting of skirtings going on and a railway sleeper to put above the fireplace, which he has been lovingly sanding away at for quite a few months. I do believe this room makeover will go down in history as the longest ever!
We haven’t been buying much for the house, other than a rug (finally) for the family room. Mostly we’ve been ‘shopping’ from other rooms to find out what looks best where.
I do, as always, promise a room reveal when it is finished! I have a bit of a backlog of the upstairs still to do…which I’ll get straight onto when the schools start back.
