It’s been a few weeks since the last Bloggers Homes due to holidays, but here we are again!  This time with the lovely Donna from What The Redhead Said (Twitter, Facebook) showing us round her recently decorated LMs room.  Over to Donna…

What Do You Love Most About The Room?

Boats were one of the first things that Little Man started noticing and saying the word for. This spiralled into an idea of a nautical themed room and I just really love how it’s all come together – from an idea, to seeing boats in shops to collecting shells at the seaside.

What Would You Do Differently?

I would have loved to carpet the room before putting everything into it as the floorboards look great to visitors but if you live with them every day you notice the imperfections and carpet would be a lot nicer to step out of bed onto in the morning. Unfortunately finances run out but we’ll be carpeting the room as soon as we can!

Which Room Is Next On The List?

We’ve actually just done the lounge and hallway and are in the process of getting the finishing touches together. After that we’ll be getting the bathroom sorted – hopefully later in the summer.

  1. It looks fantastic, loving the lampshade. I can’t wait to transform Olly’s bedroom from a baby nursery into a little boys room. Great post x

  2. LM’s room has turned out brilliantly! I don’t know how anyone has knick knack/ decoration type things in a toddler’s room though – Toby would have it all over the floor in seconds! We going to be moving him to a bed soon and are trying to work out how we can put literally everything out of reach!

    • To be honest, he’s been amazing, hasn’t touched anything! Even the monitor and anchor have stayed safe on the headboard. He has a bookcase with all his books in and he’s happy to read or play with his cuddly toys until we go and get him x

  4. Ooh what a lovely little room! My best friend is having a little boy and we are helping design his new room, I think a nautical theme would be fab!

Nautical style is my favourite thing ever. Lots of anchors, rope, and blue tones and I’m a happy sailor! Great finds 🙂 xx

  6. I have just shown this post to my husband, I have been toying with different ideas for boys bedroom for ages now and I can’t believe we didn’t think of this. My older by is mad about boats and the younger one is only 2 so not old enough to argue the theme. You have done a fantastic job and I cannot believe what good value everything was. It’s really stunning.

  7. It looks brilliant! I love the nautical theme for boys.. we find out what ours is in 2 weeks, then I can decorating the nursery in the new house! So exciting! x

  8. This room looks amazing. I love the lamp shade and the beachy accents like the ornament on the window sill and the duvet set. Such a great theme for a boys room. I especially love the wooden furniture brings the room together. x

  9. LOVED this post!! I am thinking about a new theme for my little mans room and I think I will be going Nautical after seeing you fab photos! My fav thing is the little mirror! I can imagine him checking out his cute face in the morning when he is getting readyx Adorexx

  10. Love the entire room! It looks so cosy! The polaroid pictures are gorgeous and the jar filled with shells is so beautiful!
    Loved the entire decor!

  11. I love the nautical look, those cushions are adorable! My nephew is really into animals so we have a lot of animal things in the nursery.. he also likes tractors and cars but if he ever gets into boats I know where to come for inspiration. Gorgeous photos!:)

  12. Bizarre, I was sure I’d commented on this post back inthe summer but obviously not. I love Donna’s theme – in fact, N had those duvet covers for his cot bed. Embarrassingly, poor N doesn’t even have a decorated room and it’s all so mish mash, it’s a bit awful reallly
