Featuring this month is the absolutely stunning home of Kerri-Ann.  KA blogs over at the rather delectable ‘Life as our Little Family‘ where you can read all about her life adventures with her husband Mr H and adorable boy G.  I’m already a big fan of this blog, so if you haven’t taken a look…please do…you won’t regret it!

This month KA gives us a tour and answers some questions about her recent bathroom makeover…over to you Kerri-Ann…

What you love most about the room?

That’s a toughie. As I walk into the bathroom it is the floor that always takes my breath away. Even after 6 months or more. Although it wasn’t our first choice, I have come to love it so much. With the windows in our house all being so big and beautifully framed the light which floods through them leaves the most gorgeous shadows. And although the floor is really beautiful I would be lying if I didn’t say it is actually the bath which I love the most. I may have sat in it whilst still wrapped!

I have dreamt of having a bathroom just like the one we now have for 8 years and finally it came true. A traditional roll top bath, with stainless steel taps in the middle and gorgeous claw feet gripping tightly to the floor. Relaxing in the bath, with the light coming through the window feels heavenly, it is the perfect way to unwind. It is now my place to escape although there is always a reminder very close by that a four year old is often trying to muscle in on my me-time.

What you wish you did differently (if anything)?

Mr H and I would probably differ on this answer so I shall share both with you in the art of being fair to the master behind the design of the bathroom. I wish we’d painted the window frame a colour not too dissimilar to the wall tiles. To make it pop out. The walls are white, the suite is white therefore I quite like the idea of the window frame, so beautiful in its design to be showcased. I am still working on this! Mr H wishes that we had chosen an off white mirror. The mirror on the opposite wall to the bath is 5ft and is a shabby chic ivory stained colour. We went for such a grand size to encourage space and the reflection of light. It certainly does work. I love the contrasting colour and the ornate decoration on the frame. Hours, days and weeks of scouring the internet. On this occasion Mr H I think you are wrong.

What room is next on your list?

It isn’t exactly a room as such, more the final piece in the jigsaw. As we live in an old Victorian Town house one area which we have neglected are the windows. They are in need of some tender, loving care. They are traditional sash windows and we are hoping to have them all restored. They are all working sash windows which we absolutely love and certainly wouldn’t want to modernise them, more a case of bringing them back to life and preventing the wood from rotting.

I hope you’d enjoyed having a little snoop into our home. It is safe to say that we do love this space. A dream bathroom makeover and one which we all enjoy. Even the duckies!
