Bloggers’ Homes is the monthly interiors blog link up that opens on the 1st of every month (and is by far my favourite post!) It’s fills me with so much joy having a good look at the homes posts linked up and I can’t thank you enough for the continued inspiration both on the blog and on the instagram community! Do take a peek below to find out who has won the £30 voucher from the previous link up and if you have any homes posts, old or new, why not join in for a chance to win £30 to spend at Rockett St George.
This month we have one of my all time favourites. Her home is like something from an Enid Blyton book, but better. A fellow country bumpkin, Emma writes over at Life At The Little Wood and her home has always been picture perfect, but she has been busy added a touch of industrial into her home and the results have me reaching for the paint brush. Here’s Emma and her newly transformed master bedroom…
What do you like most about the room?
We made quite a change in here – from very chintzy and girly to something much more masculine and contemporary. We love how calming the room is now – almost like a hotel suite, but still maintaining a quirky edge. It just goes to show that you can adopt several different styles whilst working with the same basic features (in our case, exposed brickwork and good proportions) That’s the beauty of interiors I guess, you’re never really too tied to one look!
I particularly love the sideboard which we repainted in Farrow and Ball Mole’s Breath. I sourced different antique brass handles on eBay for a mismatched look. I love that it’s totally unique!
What would you do differently?
Not too much I don’t think! Going right back to basics, I guess we’d maybe have plug sockets in a few different places, but that’s an essential part of the house design and not really open to changing now. Everything else we’re really happy with!
What project is next on your list?
We always have a neverending list! Ha! We are hoping to tackle a bit more outdoors next Summer – fencing and landscaping. After that we have a couple of rooms to finish inside, a garage to build (including guest accommodation), potentially a loft conversion – the list goes on! We joke that we’ll be at this until our retirement. It’s maybe not too far from the truth!
